New to coaching? What do you need, how to do you use it?

Updated: Nov 10, 2020

Being a coach for the first time, or even the second or third time, can be a daunting task if you are unsure of yourself and you skills.

Are you teaching the players the correct techniques? I mean, you watch plenty of A-league Soccer in Australia and English Premier League, surely you understand how to make your own players play like that!

Right, kicking a ball, easy. Just get your foot to connect with the ball. Done. Nailed it.

Wrong

Incorrect kicking techniques can break toes at worst. At best they just learn the wrong technique and waste years of development when they finally have to unlearn your bad coaching method.

So how does one go about learning and teaching the right methods?

Ahh, training aides. Let them do the work for you.

What training equipment do it need?

You've seen all the gadgets out there. And you ask yourself, " Do you go on a spending spree? Will they help me coach better? Will everyone be impressed with all my equipment?"

In short, no.

Training as a team provides you with the best training aides, players themselves. Of course every new coach will need a basic set of aides for training. Cones for setting out areas of play or marking spots, and goals for putting into practice your coaching session. And a little fun.

Try C.F.C.'s Coaching Package A for complete coaching basics course, 7 week training program for you to implement with your team, and a set of training aides to help set you on your way.

Take a little of the stress out of coaching.
