Have you ever wondered why some teams just seem to play better? Why other teams just rely on a single or couple of great players to win the games for them?
Every player is different, every team is different. Our job as coaches is to try and bring the best out of each player and bring them together as a team. Soccer is not a individual sport like tennis or golf, you can not win every game with just a single great player. It may help, but it will not ultimately make your team win or the other players enjoy themselves.
Teach your young players the correct techniques. Don't become part of the problem in the players future where they need to "unlearn" bad habits. Years of tutelage under a coach that has inadequate skills can set a player bad years in their development, and ultimately lead to players disappointment with the game itself.
Our commitment to players is to create better coaches. Better coaching means better players in the long run and more enjoyment in the game. This will benefit everyone, from the coach themselves, to the clubs they represent and the players we educate and mold into the superstars they could be.
And you never know, you may find a new passion in yourself you never knew you had, building a budding new superstar for our national team.
