Heading Pro Football Size 4
Currently, Football Associations around the globe are concerned with heading practice in young children. Whilst there are many studies both for and against this practice, one thing remains true. We cannot stop heading within a game.
Dr Kerry Peek, from the University of Sydney, undertook a long term study of heading and the impact and strain on players. The overall result, heading practice and exercises are paramount in reducing the strain on players and correct contact with the ball. But this does not mean we should head the ball every practice session. Football Australia recommends this type of practice is limited to 10 minutes per month.
To further reduce the risk of long term strain and side effects of heading, The Heading Pro Football was developed for youth footballers to practice their heading techniques with a reduced risk of injury. This ball over 40% lighter than a standard ball, and has a softer covering, making it ideal for youth footballs to gain the confidence and practice correct techiques all with a ball that behaves very similar to a normal training ball.
The Heading Pro Football is designed for youths, it is a size 4 ball, and we recommend the use for ages 10-14 years of age.
